Why AI Agents Need a Desktop App
A desktop app lets an AI agent enter files, browser context, and local tools so it can move from answers to task completion.
Most AI products still live inside a chat window. They can explain, rewrite, and summarize, but real work happens across folders, browsers, spreadsheets, editors, and team tools.
Doxie treats desktop as the action layer because desktop is close to the actual worksite: project files, local context, browser sessions, system apps, and automation permissions.
That does not mean AI should operate a computer without control. A desktop AI agent needs clearer permission boundaries, run logs, and user confirmation. Doxie is designed so AI can act, while each step remains visible, controlled, and traceable.
